Team Nominated for 2006 IPC Cycling World Championships

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - U.S. Paralympics announced today the athletes that have been nominated to represent the U.S. at the 2006 IPC Cycling World Championships, Sept. 7-17 in Aigle, Switzerland.
The 2006 U.S. Paralympics Cycling World Championships Team will feature the seven U.S. cycling medalists from the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece. That group includes Barb Buchan (Bend, Ore.), who won two gold medals and a silver at last week's U.S. Paralympics Cycling National Championships, as well as Dan Nicholson (Richmond, Va.), who won two gold medals at Nationals, and the tandem of Katie Compton (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Karissa Whitsell (Springfield, Ore.), who won three medals last week.
The following athletes have been nominated to this year's World Championships Team:

The 2006 U.S. Paralympics Cycling World Championships Team will be in Colorado Springs, Colo., Aug. 19 - Sept. 4 for a preparatory camp leading up to the event.
