Fabry convincingly won all four of his matches, including the gold-medal match, where he defeated Finland's Jean-Pierre Antonios, the tournament's No. 2 seed, 113-97.

In the semifinals, Fabry beat Switzerland's Robert Lehner in what would be his closest match of the tournament, 113-105. To get to the semis, he beat two archers from the Czech Republic, Petr Bartos and David Drahoninsky, by scores of 163-149 and 114-102, respectively.

The gold medal gives Fabry his second World Championship in as many tries and caps off an incredible week. In the qualifying round, Fabry broke five world records in the W1 Recurve class, one for every distance he shot from (30, 50, 60 and 70 meters) and for total score (1,378 points).

In other action over the weekend, the other two remaining American archers fell in the Round of 16 of their respective tournaments. Joseph Bailey (Flushing, Mich.) lost to Italy's Alberto Simonelli, the eventual silver medalist in the Men's Open Compound, 169-161, and Kevin Stone (Cookeville, Tenn.) lost to the Ukraine's Roman Hutnyk, 154-149 in the W2 Recurve tournament.

The IPC Archery World Championships will conclude with the team events. The U.S. will be represented in the Men's Open Compound tournament, where Bailey, T.J. Pemberton (Moore, Okla.) and Russell Wolfe will take on Great Britain today.
