Vazquez Named 2007 CPISRA World Championships MVP
U.S. Paralympics Soccer Team midfielder Marthell Vazquez was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2007 Cerebral Palsy International Sports & Recreation Association (CPISRA) World Championships in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Vazquez was the leading scorer for the U.S. team, notching four goals in the tournament and assisting on all three goals in a 3-0 victory over Spain on Nov. 9. more...  

U.S. Paralympics Soccer National Team head coach Jay Hoffman named the 12-man roster that will travel to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, for the 2007 Cerebral Palsy International Sports & Recreation Association (CPISRA) World Championships from Nov. 5-17. It is the second trip to Rio de Janeiro for the team, which finished fourth at the 2007 Parapanamerican Games earlier this year. more...

John Theobald (Syracuse, N.Y.) made history when he scored the first-ever goal for the U.S. Paralympic soccer team in 1992. Fifteen years later, the 50-year old is aiming to make history again by being a member of the team to win what is believed to be the program’s first-ever medal at a Paralympic Games or Parapan American Games. Theobald and Team USA can win the bronze medal if they defeat Canada Saturday in a 7-a-side match-up at the Parapan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
