Personal Profile:
A veteran and retired U.S. Army Noncommissioned Officer (NCO), Stone started competing in nationally-sanctioned sports as part of a sports rehab program with the Veterans Administration, starting in 1997 with his first international team gold medal in the Can-Am Pistol competition. His shooting aspirations would lead him and his Michigan-based team on many successful medal defenses, but it would be the crossover into archery, a secondary rehab sport, that would take him to the birthplace of the Olympics, Athens, Greece, for a historic first U.S. medal with two of his teammates, Aaron Cross and Jeff Fabry.

As he continues to train, his goal is to reach the podium as an individual medalist at the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing. Stone also makes time to explore his new mountain home in the Great Smoky Mountains of Eastern Tennessee, and continues to use his degrees in Art and Music to keep himself centered and clear. He also donates his time to the U.S. Olympic Committee’s Paralympic Military Program, the Wounded Warrior Project, and other events such as Make-A-Wish, which he counts among the highlights of his career.
