Personal Profile:
Manns made his Paralympic debut at the 2002 Games in Salt Lake City and took very little time to make his presence known, scoring the first goal of the tournament. He was also one of the last players to score a goal in the tournament, scoring during the shootout of the gold-medal game with Norway.  Manns was first introduced to sled hockey by Rich DeGlopper. When Manns made it to Salt Lake and scored those goals, DeGlopper was behind the bench as the Team Manager for the U.S. to see it.

At the 2006 Games in Torino, Manns led the U.S. in goal-scoring (three in five games) as the team went on to win a bronze medal. Manns was the only U.S. player to have a multiple-goal game, scoring a pair in a 6-1 win over Sweden. At 25 years of age, Manns could be an important part of the team for years to come.

Manns is attending Buffalo State College and pursuing a degree in business management. He has also stayed active on the ice as part of the Buffalo Freeze sled hockey club.  When he isn’t competing or studying, Manns works as a youth football coach for the little league Riverside Rams in Buffalo and spends his Saturdays as a sled hockey coach for Western New York Physically Challenged Youth Sports. He also likes to spend time with his girlfriend and his three nephews.
