Personal Profile:
Guerra has been one of the world's top sled hockey goalies for more than a decade. He's a five-time All-World goaltender and was a First Team All-Star selection from the 2002 Paralympic Winter Games, where the USA was the surprise gold medal winner. At the 2006 Games in Torino, Guerra posted a 2.06 goals-against average (GAA) as the U.S. went on to win the bronze medal.   “Manny” has been a member of every national sled hockey team since 1990. He was introduced to the sport in 1989 while attending a rehabilitation clinic in Minneapolis, Minn., where he saw a video demonstration. Guerra was already coming from a hockey background. He played goalie for his high school team, the George Washington Minutemen, wearing a simple knee brace to counter the effects of his instability.

Guerra is married and has four children. He has been a volunteer hockey coach with the United Way since 1995, participates in youth clinics for wheelchair sports such as tennis, basketball and sled hockey, and also serves as a motivational speaker at hospitals and schools.
