Personal Profile: Connelly, a sophomore at Absegami High School in Galloway, N.J., was the youngest member of the 2006 U.S. Paralympic Team. Connelly was one of four defensemen on the Paralympic squad, and saw a lot of playing time in Torino, picking up an assist and a +2 rating over five games. Although he didn't score a goal in Torino, Connelly has also shown the ability to put the puck in the net for the U.S. He scored the game-winning goal in a shootout in a win over Canada in the championship game of the USA Cup in February.
Connelly was first encouraged to try out for the National Team by U.S. team member Mike Doyle during one of Connelly’s practices with the Vineland Sled Stars of the Atlantic Sled Hockey League. When he isn’t on the ice or going to school, the 16-year-old Connelly enjoys hunting, fishing and playing video games.
