Colorado Springs, Colo. – The Volkswagen 48th World Table Tennis Championships is about a week away in Shanghai, China from April 30 – May 6 at the Shanghai Gymnasium.

This International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) event hosted by the Chinese Table Tennis Association along with the Shanghai Organizing Committee will host the World’s elite from approximately 106 countries.

The reigning World Champions are as follows:

Men’s Singles – Werner SCHLAGER, Austria

Women’s Singles – WANG, Nan, China

Men’s Doubles – WANG Liqin & YAN Sen, China

Women’s Doubles – WANG Nan & ZHANG Yining, China

Mixed Doubles – WANG Nan & MA Lin, China

The 2005 US Team which is loaded with veteran talent comprises of:
