CSOTC Marketing // Director, New Media
SUMMARY: Develop and manage operations of the USOC’s digital media initiatives and web sites including the new teamusa.org (an aggregation of websites for the USOC, U.S. Paralympics, and multiple National Governing Bodies).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Functions include, but are not limited to the following: 1. Manage operations of the USOC’s digital media initiatives and web sites, including teamusa.org, various national governing body (NGB) sites and the U.S. Paralympics site
2. Work with USOC marketing, information technology and strategic planning group to further refine and develop the organization’s digital media strategy plan
3. In concert with USOC IT group, supervise relationships with production partners
4. Collaborate with USOC sponsorship group to help develop and sell sponsor and branded integration opportunities on USOC digital platforms (teamusa.org and various microsites)
5. Collaborate with USOC licensed products and development groups to expand e-commerce and online fund-raising opportunities
6. Manage web publishing relationships with NGB partners
7. Collaborate with USOC Communications team to coordinate messaging, news flow, editorial direction, etc.
8. Manage staff of two full-time digital media employees, as well as a number of freelancers
9. Develop new content initiatives and site enhancements
10. Review, analyze, and communicate metrics (web analytics) reports
TOOLS/EQUIPMENT: • Standard office equipment
CONDITIONS: • Office environment on multi-building site
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • BA or BS • Minimum eight years of online publishing or new media experience in either content development, project management or production, or a relevant combination • Knowledge of and experience with content management systems, community/social media tools, and online video management, as well as the latest trends in digital media • Strong track record of developing effective content and digital programming initiatives; sports experience a major plus • Ability to work effectively and comfortably with inside and outside constituents and stakeholders • Knowledge of web analytics programs • Experience working with editorial/content talent • Creative, energetic self-starter with good interpersonal skills • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
