CSOTC Marketing // Manager, Content Development

SUMMARY:
The person in this role will develop and source original content for the new U.S. Olympic Committee website program.  The Manager, Content Development will coordinate and manage the activities of a variety of freelance content developers including athletes, journalists, sports / event specific writers, photographers, etc.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Functions include, but are not limited to the following:
 
1.  Coordinate the activities of freelance and contract writers creating original content for the U.S. Olympic Committee’s new website.

2.  Identify athletes to provide original content and manage their contributions to the site.

3.  Source, hire and manage freelance content developers.

4.  Develop original content concepts for the USOC website.

5.  Provide content development assistance to National Governing Bodies and U.S. Paralympics.

6.  Assist internal USOC divisions with the posting of content to the site.

7.  Coordinate the USOC’s Gold Medal Pass e-newsletter program.

8.  Assist with the development of web-related activation opportunities for USOC corporate partners.

9.  Assist with the development of original and archive video assets

TOOLS/EQUIPMENT:
• Standard office equipment

CONDITIONS:
• Office environment on multi-building site

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• BA or BS
• Minimum five years of online publishing or new media experience in either content development, project management or production, or a relevant combination
• Knowledge of and experience with content management systems as well as the latest trends in digital media
• Strong track record of developing sports content and digital programming initiatives
• Excellent writing skills with strong portfolio of original content.
• Creative, energetic self-starter with good interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
