LPOTC Program Management Administration//Resident Athlete Dorm Supervisor

Improve resident athlete life in the dorms by communicating expectations to athletes and by providing assistance with athlete multi-media needs including website development, art center facilitation and press releases.     Serving as a professional and educational role model, supervise all dorm activity and communicate effectively to OTC Directors, NGBs, Operations and Athlete Services teams. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Dorm Supervisor

  1. Will reside in OTC Housing.
  2. Serve as a professional role model for athletes and coaches at all times, setting a high standard for resident life on campus.
  3. Assist in enforcing policies and procedures related to behavior and dorm life.
  4. Report all violations of rules to NGB Executive Directors, OTC Directors and Operations.  Work with appropriate persons at the direction of the site supervisor to resolve issues in a timely manner, documenting accordingly.
  5. Alert the appropriate staff and/or departments in emergency situations.
  6. Attend and help facilitate all OTC dorm supervisor meetings and updates.  Keep all dorm supervisors updated for all dorm activities.
  7. Organize and maintain procedures for emergency evacuations and security issues and keeping all contacts updated.
  8. Assist with athlete arrival, orientation and departure process working with dorm supervisor team.
  9. Protect athlete room privacy working to ensure all athletes are informed when maintenance, etc. must enter a room. 
  10. Address any serious dorm room situations with the Director of the Training Center, Operations, Athlete Services, Coaches and NGBs.
  11.  Provide transportation for athletes as needed.
  12. Attend weekly Operations staff meetings and report on all dorm activity.
  13. Maintain on-call cell phone at all times.
  14. Other duties as assigned.
  15. Maintain and Update video information system.
  16. Organize activities for athletes.

Multi-Media Coordinator

  1. Create and facilitate LPOTC media stories and press release working with USOC Media and Public Relations department and local media outlets.
  2. Assist resident athletes with multi-media needs.
  3. Help maintain resident athlete photo archives, taking photos and creating slide shows.
  4. Maintain Athlete Services and Programs digital archives.
  5. Work with the local arts community to promote art and multi-media functions to resident athletes, including athlete participation.
  6. Create art center athlete committee and facilitate all meetings and projects.
  7. Maintain multi-media bulletin boards and assist with all bulletin board updates.
  8. Maintain Athlete Services portion of the USOC Communications Portal.
  9. Update athlete training photos for all sports for all USOC departmental use and maintain those archives.
  10. Attend weekly Athlete Services staff meetings.
  11. Provides coverage for registration desk as needed.
  12. Other duties as assigned.
  13. Have monthly meetings with groups of athletes for feedback.
  14. Organize any media groups coming in to the Lake Placid Olympic Training Center.

CONDITIONS:

·  Physical work required

·  May require heavy lifting up to 40 lbs.

·  Weekend and night hours required

·  Living situation with limited space and privacy

·  On-Call status

·  Minimum 40 hour work week

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

·  Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

·  2-3 years of sport operations experience

·  Excellent communication skills

·  Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

·  Excellent conflict management/resolutions skills

·  Proven leadership skills and background

·  Clean driving record with valid  New York driver’s license

·  Good in multi-tasking situations

·  Knowledge of Olympic Sports

·  Sport background preferred

·  Working knowledge of websites and digital photography
