A natural athlete, Pikus-Pace’s high school track and field coach asked her to travel to Park City, Utah, and try her luck at bobsledding. She immediately fell in love with the sport and soon after the bobsled coach urged her to switch over to skeleton. Initially, the idea was not appealing.
