  • Mother was a renowned dressage judge and equestrian and introduced David to the sport at a very young age.

  • David and Karen became the first couple in Olympic history to earn two team medals.
  • Lives with Karen in The Plains, Va., where they both manage and oversee Jacqueline Mars’ Stonehall Farm.
  • Rides every morning with wife, Karen, schooling five to eight horses per day.
  • Every winter, the couple travels to Ocala, Fla., where they teach lessons and have up to 60 horses under their care.

It's Every Day

At age 11, David went on three-month trek across the country from Maryland to Oregon with his mother and brother, helping him to learn more about the sport of equestrian. David feels it was an invaluable experience as he learned about horses and people from all different walks of life on the journey.
