- Is known for his fun-loving character: he loves to have fun and act like a clown.
- Credits a lot of his growth and success to all the milk he drinks…and hard work.
- Known for his very “flashy” and “showy” style, which he receives both support and criticism for.

Dirrell has benefited from the coaching and training of his grandfather, Leon “Bumper” Lawson. In addition to serving as coach and trainer for both Andre and his brother, Anthony, Lawson also happens to be a good friend of boxing great Muhammad Ali, and hopes his grandson will be able to follow in the footsteps of the Olympic legend.
