Early in Pearce’s career he would over focus on the sport causing him to over analyze an aspect of the event and throw his confidence off. “I have to pull myself away from my sport in order to not get too into it,” Pearce said. “When I was a junior and a young senior rider, I would have mental meltdowns because I’d get too focused and too neurotic about my event.”
On his favorite aspect of his sport: “If I had to pick one thing that I liked most about the sport I would say that it’s just the fact that everyday you get up and you have to be so in touch with your body. With the physical aspects of your own body, not just purely physical but spiritual. You have to be in a state of good mind and good health. I really enjoy that component of the sport.”
