DeWitt, Lincoln
- 2000-01 World Cup Champion
- Champion at 2001 U.S. National Championships
- Gold medalist at 2000 North American Championships
- Won 2002 U.S. Olympic Trials
- While skeleton is one of the most frightening Olympic sports, DeWitt has a day job of a much different variety - as a computer programmer
- Took up skeleton on a whim in 1997, thinking it would be a fun way to use one of the Olympic venues being built in Park City, Utah
- Featured in USOC's advertising campaign for Salt Lake Games, with a cardboard cutout likeness of himself attending his surprise birthday party, but he is unable to blow out the candles because he actually is training for competition
- Competed for the University of Pennsylvania track and field team, running the 800m and 1500m for the Quakers. He graduated from Penn with a degree in economics.
- Admits that he generally does not know what day of the week it is. "When you stop working full-time, the days don't mean anything anymore."
- His dream vacation location is St. Moritz, Switzerland. "It's sort of the Mecca of skeleton, where the sport was born."
- Involved in the community and enjoys working with children. He was a coach in the Learn To Race ski program at Park City Mountain Resort and has filmed a Youth Anti-Smoking Coalition commercial.
- Co-founded the Young Riders, a youth mountain biking clinic/race team that produces nationally competitive junior racers
- Outside of skeleton, enjoys outdoor activities, such as mountain biking, camping, golfing and skiing
- At home, his main companion is his Doberman, Cosmo.
At 34, he's no spring chicken, which means he has to train even harder in order to medal at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.
