  • 2002 Olympics four-man bronze medalist with driver Brian Shimer
  • Qualified for the 2002 U.S. Olympic Team, placing second in 4-Man at Trials behind driver Brian Shimer
  • Finished in the top 13th in 4-man at the past three World Championships: ninth, 2001; 13th, 2000; and 12th, 1999
  • Placed third in 2000 Brakeman Push Championships
  • 1999 National Champion in 4-man bobsled (driver Todd Hays)
Did You Know?
  • Like many other bobsled teammates, Sharp comes from a track and field background. His specialty was the pole vault. He pole vaulted 18-1/2 feet and was ranked 35th in the world at one point.
  • He also missed making the cut-off for the 1996 Olympic Trials in the pole vault by just 4 inches
  • Currently serves as an assistant track coach at the University of Louisville
  • Sharp is a licensed chiropractor and is also an accomplished power lifter who boasts a bench press best of 440 pounds

Sharp, an Army artillery cannon specialist, is one of several fellow U.S. Olympic bobsled teammates that benefited from the Army's World Class Athlete Program, which is based at Fort Carson near Colorado Springs, Colo. Other members of the program include Darrin Steele, Dan Steele, Mike Kohn and Garrett Hines.
