- Won four Big 12 titles and earned All-American honors seven times between 1997-2000

- Construction Engineering major at Iowa State
- Started throwing in the seventh grade because his build was too big for running
- In high school made All-State honors basketball team and rose to All-Academic echelon in basketball and football
