Darrell Pace
- Four-time U.S. Olympian (1976, 1980, 1984, 1988).

Owen began taking archery lessons when he was 13, after he bought an archery set that included a coupon for one free lesson. After the first lesson, he continued to pay for the classes out of his own pocket. By the time he was 16, he was the youngest member of the U.S. Team.
"I never needed publicity. It wasn't for personal gratification. I just wanted to see the U.S. flag on the pole," he told the Cincinnati Enquirer. Also on the topic of patriotism, he told the Cincinnati Post: "All my life, everything I owned was patriotic -- red, white and blue. I drove a Ford. I didn't do it for me, I did it for my country. Nowadays, they want you to do it for yourself."
