- Named 1996 Player of the Year by the National Foundation of Wheelchair Tennis
- Won the 1995 U.S. Open wheelchair A-division doubles championship
- Won the 1987 U.S. Open wheelchair A-division doubles championship
- 1972 U.S. roller speed skating national champion
- At the age of 20, a shelving unit fell on top of him in a warehouse accident, rendering his legs immobile
- Diagnosed with melanoma and went through several months of chemotherapy to fight it off
- Member of the 2005 National Sled Hockey team
- Participated in the Des Moines Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) in which he handcycled 500 miles in a span of seven days
- Owns ARlington Skatium which is Arkansas' only ice and roller skating facility
