Mason Aguirre
- 2006 Men's Olympic team member in the Snowboard halfpipe
- At 18, Aguirre is the youngest snowboarder on 2006 U.S. Men's Olympic Snowbaording team
- Beat out the 2002 gold (Ross Powers) and bronze (J.J. Thomas) halfpipe medalists for the final spot on the team
- Aguirre's runs feature aggressive-style moves like the 1080 (three times around), backside 5, and frontside 900
- Trademark move is the frontside cork 5
- Sister Molly is also a professional snowboarder and a part of the U.S. Snowboarding team
- Has an older brother Tyler who sparked the family snowboarding craze
- Became a professional snowboarder at the age of 15
- Worst injury ever suffered was a broken collarbone in 7th grade
- Enjoys playing guitar, golf and skating
If he wasn't a pro, Aguirre would probably be going to some high school in Duluth thinking about what the heck he's gonna do with his life. Probably playing a lot of guitar still though.
"My dad is my No. 1 hero. It's great to see how he believes in us and never pressures us into doing anything. I always put school on the back burner. I didn't see myself in college and my dad respected that. I never saw myself as one of those guys making an average salary so I stuck with what I was good at."
