Elena Hight
- 2006 U.S. Olympic team member in the snowbaord halfpipe
- In 2003, Hight became the first woman to land a 900 in competition at the age of 13
- 3rd at '05 Breckenridge Grand Prix and at Mt. Bachelor Grand Prix
- 3rd at 2005 World Superpipe Championships & 2nd at 2004 World Superpipe Championships
- Started snowboarding at the age of 6 and began competing at the age of 8
- Enjoys a game of tennis with fellow snowboarder Tricia Byrnes
- Did gymnastics when she was younger
- Favorite pre-snowboarding meal is a big breakfast
- Listens to music from Led Zeppellin to Guns'N'Roses to Kelly Clarkson to block out distractions like crowds
Hight travels a lot, and she does a lot of home schooling. Homeschooling can be tough because sometimes she'd rather just sit around and watch TV, rather than do school work. But she's motivated and thinks education is important. She makes sure what needs to be done gets done.
"Always keep riding and keep having fun. Girls snowboarding has been progressing a lot in the past few years. We've taken huge steps, there's a lot more publicity and women have been stepping up the riding and made big strides. It's a great time for girls to get into snowboarding."
