Kimberly Derrick
- 2006 U.S. Olympic Team member
- Bronze overall in 2005 U.S. Short Track National Championships
- 2005 Fall World Cup Team member
- Four-time Junior World Champion line skater
- Took up short track only three years ago after watching Apolo Ohno and the rest of the U. S. Short Track team compete at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City
- Enjoys hanging out with friends, going to the movies and listening to music
- Favorite movies are "8 Seconds" and "Cutting Edge"
- Favorite athlete is Lance Armstrong and favorite non-skating sport is cycling
- Hopes to one day pursue a career as an elementary school teacher
Kimberly is a member of the U.S. Olympic Education Center program at Northern Michigan University in Marquette. This allows her to train while taking classes at NMU.
Derrick on beating Hyo-Jung Kim and Allison Baver in the 1000m at the 2005 U.S. Short Track National Championships: "I didn't think I was going that fast. I'm kind of surprised; everyone thought she (Kim) wouldn't be beaten. It felt good to show them I can compete with them.”
