• Made the Olympic team by just one-fourth of a point. “It was a real nail-biter,” he said.
• Member of four World Cup teams (1996-2000) and the 1998 World Championship team.
• Shot competitively at the Rochester Rifle Club from 1987–1996.
• Shot rifle for four years before switching to pistol.
• When not training or studying at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, he spends his free time playing softball and golf.
• A 1993 graduate of McQuaid High School.
• Says he needs to work on his concentration going into the Olympics.
• Spends about 3 ½ hours every morning at the range.

 “After 2000, it was really hard,” he said. “ It was really hard to stay focused in 2000 and 2001. I was putting too much pressure on myself to do it (make the Olympic team.)  I hadn’t had enough experience. If I make it this, time I should do pretty well. It was a hard decision to come back and try for ’04. I wasn’t progressing as far as I wanted to. I had to make the decision whether to keep going. ”
