- Qualified for the 2004 Olympic Team by winning the Olympic Trials
- Three-time U.S. women’s 10 km race walk champion
- She is entering her 20th year as an elite athlete
- Has been ranked nationally as a women’s race walker in the U.S. for a 12-year span as a 10 km walker (1986-1998), and for four straight years as a 20 km walker
- As a 39-year-old in 2002 she was the runner-up at the USA Outdoor Championships and ended the season ranked #2 in the country by Track & Field News
- Has been #1 ranked in the 10 km women’s race walk on three occasions, in 1986, 1993 and 1994.
- She is a two-time competitor at IAAF World Outdoor Track & Field Championships, finishing 22nd in the 10km race walk in both 1993 and 1995
