- Four-time ACC Champion & All-American in high jump
- Seven-time prep national champion at J.W. North High School
- Indoor and outdoor national champion in the high jump in 2001 and ’02
- Led high school team to 1999, 2000 and ’02 California state titles, as well as 2001 national crown
- Member of the National Honor Society
- Served as church youth department secretary during high school
"She's been jumping since she was in the crib," says her grandmother Beatrice Jackson. "You ever have a child that you're talking to and she's bouncing up and down like a ball? That was her at five years old. She jumped rather than walked."
