- Qualified for the 2004 Olympic Team by finishing runner-up at the Olympic Trials
- 2003 USA Indoor & Outdoor shot put champion
- 3rd at 2002 USA Outdoors and Indoors
- In 2003, she became the first woman to win the USA Indoor and Outdoor shot put titles in the same year since Connie Price-Smith did it in 2000
- Her 2003 seasonal best effort of 18.33 meters, 60 feet, 1.75 inches, was the fourth-best throw by an American that season
- Her father was the men’s water polo coach at Cal-Berkeley
- A standout at the University of Florida, she transferred to Cal-Berkeley her junior season when she found out that her father was suffering from brain cancer… he died in July of 1999
- She was a five-time All-American in college
