- 2004 Olympic bronze medalist, swam prelims of the 400m freestyle relay
- 2000 Olympic silver medalist, swam prelims of the 800m freestyle relay
- 2005 World champion in the 400m freestyle relay, 2004 Short Course World champion in the 400m freestyle relay setting an American record
- Won a gold and silver medal at the 2003 World Championships; swimming on the American-record-breaking 800m freestyle relay, also took silver in the 400 free relay
- Earned a bronze at the 2001 World Championships in the 800m freestyle relay
- Won national titles in different events: 200 individual medley, 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly
- Won two silvers and two bronzes at the 2002 Pac Pacific Championships
- A member of the U.S. Open record-breaking 400 free relay at the 2003 "Duel in the Pool"
- Named the 2001 NCAA Swimmer of the Year
- Graduated from the University of Texas in 2002 with a degree in marketing
- Played soccer, baseball and golf before settling on swimming
- Enjoys relaxing by the pool, playing golf, fishing
- Says his father is his most influential person -- "He showed me how to be a man and a positive role model to those around me," Dusing said.
- Taped an episode of "While You Were Out" for The Learning Channel that aired in August 2004 in which he got his girlfriend out of the house for a couple of days to do a surprise renovation
- Engaged to Michelle Wickwire, who played soccer at the University of Texas, and is going to tie-the-knot Oct. 21, 2005
On swimming at the 2004 Olympics: "I came half way round the world to swim for 49.01 seconds, but it was well worth it," wrote Dusing on Cincinnati.com Olympic Athletes Blog. "I would have like to been a part of the finals relay, but I did the best I could and relished the experience of being on the Olympic stage once again."
