It's Every Day

Throughout her career, Colander has embraced new events and new challenges. Even though she took up the 100 meters only in 2003, she’s not surprised that she won the 2004 Trials. “As long as I am doing my best, I have the same positive mind-set. I started out doing hurdles and I switched to the 400 to get stronger. Then I wanted to see what I could do in the 100,” she explains. “When it is your opportunity, you have to give it everything you’ve got.”

Quote

“Track and field is still thriving and still strong – and the focus should be on how strong it is, and that we have so many wonderful young athletes coming up that are excited about running in the Olympics and the Trials.”--The News and Observer, July 11, 2004
