- Played soccer at Middlebury and was a member of the state champion soccer team as well as the gymnastics and softball teams in high school
- Enjoys running, hiking, cooking and gardening
- Started out cross country skiing but made switch to alpine after discovering you can ride a lift instead of climbing to ski
- Has two cats, Sophie May and Daisy
- Believes she is similar to her cats in several ways: "We're a little stubborn, personal and on our own program but can let our guard down when the right people are around."
- Enjoys music of Sugar Ray. "I saw him on TV and thought he was cute so I have been listening to his music ever since!"
- Favorite Olympic moment was "Walking into the Opening Ceremonies in Albertville, France. The roar of the crowd and all the excitement was amazing."
- Favorite course is at Deer Valley, "Because the course is long and steep, the way I like them."
- While traveling, her favorite restaurants are The Mongolian Grill in Whistler, B.C., and Movenpick Hotel in Zurich, Switzerland
- Her ideal vacation destination: "My favorite place would probably be Mexico just because I lived in Mexico City when I was younger. It is an amazing city."
Battelle suffered a nasty injury in September 2000, dislocating her left shoulder and breaking her shoulder socket. Yet, she recovered quickly and refused to wear a sling at her wedding later that month. After a few months of rehab, she returned to competition in January 2001 and earned Top-10 finishes in four of the five World Cup competitions she entered.
