Waller, Tisha
- Four-time USA outdoor champion (‘96, ‘98, ’99, ‘02)
- Six-time USA indoor champion (‘96, ‘98, ‘99, ’00, ‘02, '03)
- American indoor record holder.
- Earned a degree in education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1992; went on to earn her masters from in Education Leadership at Clark Atlanta University
- Won the 1996 Teacher of the Year Award as a kindegarten teacher at Livsey Elementary in DeKalb County, Ga.
- Continues to visit and mentor students from Livsey
- Inspired by her sister, Petra, who had a career ending injury in high school as a sprinter
- Named to both Indoor and Outdoor ACC Top 50 Women's Track Team in 2002
Waller took 2001 off to earn her masters and return to teaching all while continuing to train for competition. "I've learned to keep my balance," she said.
