Davis, Walter

- 2-time NCAA Indoor TJ champion (’01, ’02)
- 11th in triple jump at 2000 Olympics
- Did not start running track until his junior year in high school
- The only U.S. Olympian from Barton Community College in any sport
- Was introduced to President Bush when his LSU track team visited the White House after they won the NCAA 2002 title
- Six-time Junior College Champion at Barton Community College
- All-State basketball player for Beau Chene High School
Davis emerged into the international scene when he qualified for the Olympics in both the long jump and triple jump. He made the decision to compete only in the triple jump. He realizes that he is still young and has much to learn and looks forward to a long future in the track world. "At least two more Olympics!"
