Tkachuk plays on the same line as fellow U.S. Olympians, Doug Weight and Scott Young, for the St. Louis Blues. Their sense for each other on the ice will likely mean they will play the same line for Team USA in Salt Lake. Tkachuk calls Weight the best passer in the NHL.
About playing the eventual Stanley Cup champions Colorado Avalanche in the 2001 playoffs: "You have to win the one-on-one battles. That's the way you have to play to beat this team. I love that. That's the way the game should be played."
