Annia moved to the United States in 1997 and became an American citizen in December 2001. In February 2003, Annia recieved her international release allowing her to compete for the U.S. In her American debut she won both the vault and floor exercise tiltes in the 2003 Visa American Cup. Along with her husband Alan, she is the co-owner of Star's Acadamey gym in West Haven, Connecticut.
