- Qualified for the 2002 U.S. Olympic Team, but withdrew after breaking both feet hitting a landing in a nasty training accident

Cook started the 2001 season on the U.S. Skiing C Team but quickly ascended the ladder, winning both selection events before Christmas, earning her first Top-3 finish and nailing down three more Top-10 standings. Her performances led her to the A Team.
