Courtney Kupets
- 2004 Olympic silver medalist in the women's team competition; earned a bronze in the uneven bars and was fifth on the balance beam, battling back from a strained adductor muscle
- 2004 U.S. co-champion, all-around; 2003 U.S. champion, all-around
- 2003 World Championships team gold medalist; 2002 world champion, uneven bars
- Suffered a torn left Achilles tendon in August 2003 practicing at World Championships and was forced to withdraw from competition.
- Recovered from 2003 injury to win the all-around co-championship at the 2004 Visa U.S. Championships
- Began participating in gymnastics at the age of three
- Favorite gymnasts are Tabitha Yim and her sister, Ashley, who is also an elite gymnast
- Her father was a college football player, and her mother was a college cheerleader
- Older brother Mark is an accomplished pole vaulter for Penn, while younger brother Chris is a sophomore in high school
- Has also participated in diving and cheerleading
- Enjoys reading, bike riding, shopping, and spending time on the computer.
- Favorite vacation spot is the beach
Following her U.S. all-around title, Courtney was named the USA Gymnastics Female Athlete of the Year and her coach, Kelli Hill, was named Coach of the Year.
