Hallisey, Caroline
- Three-time Olympian - 1998, 2002, 2006
- Member of 1998 Olympic team, placing fifth in 3000m team relay
- First overall in 2000-2001 American Cup Standings
- Member of American-record 3000m relay team in Lake Placid in 2000.
- Finished 24th overall in 2000-01 World Cup standings.
- A three-time consecutive U.S. Junior Short Track Champion, Hallisey is the American junior-record holder in 500m (45.900, Lake Placid, N.Y., 2/18/00).
- Began skating at the age of two, "because family was doing it and I did not want to be left at home with the babysitter."
- Also involved in equestrian show jumping.
- Considers making the 1998 U.S. Olympic team at age 17 her greatest accomplishment, fulfilling a lifetime dream.
- In her spare time, she enjoys equestrian show jumping, nature, all sports, family, drawing, and music (all styles except country).
- After her skating career concludes would like to continue exploring other sports and get into the teaching profession.
- Her favorite author is Dean Koontz.
Strongest influence has come from her parents since "they have never pushed me, but were there when I needed them. They allowed me to keep the sport fun." Each parent is involved in the sport - her mother is a competitor's steward and her father referees and keeps score at events.
"I'm trying to get into the same frame of mind as I did for the last Olympics. I've two journals to keep me focused -- one is my skating journal, and it's all positive things. The other is a personal journal to unload & dump things you don't need."
