- Made a massive move up the World Cup charts in 2004-2005…five World Cup podiums led to her career best finish of sixth overall…in the previous three seasons, her best finish was 14th
- Was fourth in the season-ending World Cup standings in the 1,500-meters
- Was third in the 500-meter, 1,500-meter and 3,000-meter at the 2004 U.S. Nationals
- Finished first overall at the National World Cup Trials in 2003, 2004
- Qualified for the 2002 U.S. Olympic Team in the 3,000-meter relay, finishing 5th overall at 2002 U.S. Olympic Trials
- 2002 U.S. Olympic Education Center Athlete of the Year
- Started skating short track in 2000 after a highly decorated inline skating career
- Introduced to the ice by her friend and coach, Shawn Walb, and became very interested in short track speedskating after attending the 1998 Short Track Olympic Trials where former inliner Chris Callis was competing
- Considers family, coaches, teammates and friends as greatest influences on her skating career
- Received a degree in marketing and management from Penn State University and is currently studying for her MBA at the New York Institute of Technology LS College
- Enjoys shopping, dancing, cheerleading, taking photos and traveling
- Favorites: favorite books are "Romeo and Juliet," and anything by Terry Orlick, an author of sport psychology …favorite music is hip hop
Baver keeps a journal to assist sorting thoughts, training, and eating habits. She also adheres to a folder of motivational quotes "to lift spirits and confidence" before races.
