  • 2004 Olympic champion in beach volleyball with teammate Kerri Walsh
  • Made a courageous comeback from an abdominal muscle injury in the months prior to the Athens Olympic Games to compete and win the gold medal
  • Went on an unprecedent 90-match winning streak with Walsh in 2003-2004, winning 15 major international titles
  • FIVB Tour champion with teammate Kerri Walsh (2002, 2003)
  • One of only three players to be named a two-time AVCA National Player of the Year

  • Attended Long Beach State University and majored in Kinesiology/Physical Education.

  • Daughter of Butch May, member of the 1968 Men's National Volleyball team, and Barbara May, a nationally ranked tennis player.

Misty plans to pursue a Master's degree and continue coaching at the Junior College level after her playing career is over.
