Sannes, Amy
- Member of the 2006 U.S. Olympic Team in long track
- Qualified for the 2002 U.S. Olympic Team in the 500m, 1,000m and 1,500 meter events
- Member of 1998 U.S. Olympic team (finished 26th in 500-meter)
- Finished 3rd overall at three U.S. Sprint Championships (1999, 2000, 2001)
- A 1000-meter specialist, Sannes finished eighth in that event in the overall 2000-01 World Cup standings and recorded her first ever top-10 finish at a senior-level championship event, tying for ninth at the World Championships.
- Sannes was the surprise member of the 1998 Olympics team. "I wasn't a shoo-in for the Games, but I believed I had a chance and I made it," said Sannes. She placed 26th in the 500-meter event.

- Sannes moved her training activities from Milwaukee to Calgary in 1999 to work with the senior national team before moving on again to Park City in 2000, where she currently trains.

- In her spare time she likes to travel, cook desserts, read, take photographs, hike, and try new sports like snowboarding.
- She is interested in pursuing a career in veterinary medicine after her skating career ends.
When Sannes moved to Park City to train she became a housemate of fellow U.S. speed skaters Joey Cheek and Derek Parra. During the summers, a group of teammates often would go on organized mountain biking rides. During one particular ride in June of 2000, Sannes crashed while riding fast downhill and suffered a broken cheekbone and a concussion. The injury required surgery to insert plates in her face to set the fracture. "It looked like I got beat up," said Sannes.
