- At first, had no interest in now husband Boutiette…she said she thought he was "gross."
- Influenced by her parents and coaches but says her strongest influence is her husband because “he was there when I took my first steps on the ice and has been there every step of the way since”
- Collects Hard Rock Café pins and enjoys snowboarding, jet skiing, cycling, playing paintball, movies, learning about WWII and reading Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and Anne Rice books
- Would like to pursue a career as veterinarian or physical therapist
A top athlete in inline speed skating and artistic roller skater, Rodriguez was a multiple national champion in artistic roller skating and placed second and third at the world championships in inline speed skating. In 1993, she became the world champion. After the urging of her boyfriend (now husband) KC Boutiette, Rodriguez switched to the ice in late 1996 to pursue her Olympic dream. Just a little over a year later, Rodriguez finished fourth in the 3000m at the 1998 Olympics.
