Getting Started in Water Skiing
There are many schools and camps around the country to help those interested in water skiing and wake boarding learn the sport. Check out a listing of schools here. There are also Affiliated Clubs that allow skiers to participate in tournaments.
The American Water Ski Association's Junior Development program is for all skiers under the age of 17. The AWSA provides clinics for the beginner skier who wants to move into competitive skiing as well as clinics to help perfect the skills of more advanced skiers. The AWSA has different teams for many levels of skiing and each of the five regions in the U.S. supports a team.
The Junior Development Program has an All-Star Team, chosen each year for competition at the Water Ski National Championships. They also have a National Junior Development Team and a National Team which is chosen each year by the International Activities Committee.
