New York, NY -- NYC2012, the committee leading New York’s bid to host the Olympic Games in 2012, today announced the relaunch of its Web site, www.nyc2012.com, and promotional blitz by interactive agency R/GA, as part of NYC2012’s marketing campaign titled “Let The Dreams Begin,” which was unveiled last month.  The site uses animated images to draw parallels between the ambitious and competitive spirit of New Yorkers and the aspirations and dreams of Olympic athletes.

The site launch is being promoted using radio, print and online advertising along with out-of-home formats that include R/GA developed, Flash-based animation that is running on digital taxi tops and signs throughout New York.

Among the key features of the site is a highly interactive map of NYC2012’s X-Plan, which illustrates the bid’s venue and transportation proposal and is available in nine languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Korean, Russian and Spanish. This experience allows users to explore Olympic venues by sport or location and learn more about their history, the proposed use during the Games and a post-Games legacy should New York be fortunate enough to be selected as the host for the Games in 2012.

“We wanted to capture the energy and excitement of New York City by creating a highly interactive online experience,” said Bob Greenberg, R/GA Chairman, CEO and Chief Creative Officer.  Greenberg added, “Using the unique attributes of the Web, the central focus of the site became an innovative 3-D map, transcending cultural boundaries and conveying the international flavor of New York City to anyone who visits the site from anywhere around the world.”

“We’d like to thank Bob Greenberg and his remarkable team at R/GA for bringing the spirit of our bid to life through our Web site,” said Daniel L. Doctoroff, Deputy Mayor for Economic Development and Rebuilding for the City of New York and NYC2012 Founder.  “This revamped Web site speaks directly to the broad diversity we enjoy here in New York and vividly shows that this is a city of dreamers, much like the athletes who go to the Olympic Games to make their own dreams come true.”

The site is divided into six key sections that describe New York’s plan:

· New York City’s Olympic Dream – this section talks about the Olympic Movement, New York’s bid, the timeline moving forward and the support the bid has received from Olympians, elected officials and the City’s varied ethnic communities.

· Sport In Our City – this section celebrates our rich and passionate sports heritage, showing that New York is truly an Olympic sports town.

· The Plan – this includes the interactive X-Plan for an Olympic and Paralympic Games in New York, and describes New York’s transportation, security and environmental plans.

· Legacy – this tells the legacy a Games in New York would leave in terms of sports facilities, sustainable development and how the Games would inspire generations of New Yorkers after the Games.

· Experience NYC – captures the energy and vitality of the city and gives an overview of the excitement that New York will offer Olympic visitors in 2012.

· Support The Dream – describes how one can get involved in the bid through volunteer opportunities and/or by purchasing NYC2012 merchandise and gear.

Visitors to the Web site can also view and hear the television, print and radio ads that were unveiled June 28th by NYC2012 at the Time Warner Center.

New York is one of five cities vying for the right to be selected Host City for the 2012 Games by the International Olympic Committee on July 6, 2005 in Singapore. The other bid cities are London, Madrid, Moscow and Paris.
