Gary Hall Jr. - What are you up to, are you still competing? Apolo Anton Ohno - What do you do in your free time?
Here's a question for my favorite gold medal-winning swimmer, Gary Hall, Jr.: What have you been up to since all the guitar-strumming ruckus of the Sydney Olympics? I didn't see you at the Duel in the Pool ... are you still competing?
Virginia Nicolai Brighton, MA
Virginia, What have I been up to? In 2001 I moved to Miami Beach and married Elizabeth. I competed at the Goodwill Games. I am on the Board of Directors for the International Swimming Hall of Fame. On average I attend 20 events a year for the diabetes community. I produced and hosted an educational video. With a business partner I started a service called Alert Access, a medical alert system.. I travel, surf and swim. This summer I will be competing at the Pan American games. I will train in Miami, Costa Rica, Croatia, and Berkeley. Next summer is the Olympics.
My training is going well and I feel that I'm in a position to conquer Athens. In all, I feel good; things are good.
Onward, Gary

What does speed skater Apolo Ohno do in his spare time when he's not training or otherwise?
Marybeth, Honestly I do many things in my spare time. In my off-season I am outdoors quite a bit enjoying the Colorado sun. I love autos and mobile entertainment--music is something that is always incorporated in everyday activities. I like to keep things simple either just spending time with my friends outdoors in the summer or just chilling out. One thing is for certain … I am always having a good time.

Would you like to ask a question … to any Olympian? Sign up for Gold Medal Pass to become eligible. When you receive your first GMP, you will receive further instructions.
The makers of "Ask an Olympian" will make every attempt to get every viewer's question answered. However, there will be cases where we will fail. Maybe you've got a question for Jesse Owens, Johnny Weissmuller or any of our other illustrious, no-longer-living Olympians. We won't be able to be able to accommodate those requests. Thanks in advance for your understanding. Void where prohibited.
