USA Field Hockey Women's Netherlands Tour Team Announced

Colorado Springs, Colo. - USA Field Hockey and head coach Lee Bodimeade have announced the U.S. roster for the team's training tour of The Netherlands, April 21-May 3.
As part of the tour, the USA women will meet the world champion Netherlands squad in a pair of matches April 24 and May 1. The USA will complete its tour schedule with matches against top Dutch teams. Bodimeade's roster for the tour includes Kate Barber (West Chester, Pa.), Kayla Bashore (Shoemakersville, Pa.), Lauren Crandall (Doyelstown, Pa.), Sarah Dawson (Berlin, N.J.), Kelly Doton (Greenfield, Mass.), April Fronzoni (Larksville, Pa.), Claire Laubach (Bristow, Va.), Melissa Leonetti (Erdenheim, Pa.), Carrie Lingo (Rehoboth Beach, Del.), Angie Loy (Loysville, Pa.), Caroline Nichols (Virginia Beach, Va.), Dina Rizzo (Mass.), Dana Sensenig (Denver, Pa.), Sara Silvetti (Wapwallopen, Pa.), Keli Smith (Selinsgrove, Pa.), Tiffany Snow (Escondido, Calif.) and goalkeepers Jill Dedman (Orange, Conn.) and Amy Tran (Grantville, Pa.).
American University head coach Steve Jennings and University of Louisville head coach Pam Bustin will serve as assistant coaches on the tour. The tour marks the national team debuts for Nichols and Sensenig who were promoted to the national squad following the team's winter training camp in Chula Vista, Calif. The tour also marks the return of Dedman to the USA cage after spending the past two years on the USA reserve squad. Dedman was a member of the 2002 U.S. World Cup team.
The Netherlands tour continues the USA's preparations for this summer's Pan American Games, July 15-29 in Rio de Janeiro. The Pan American Games serve as the continental qualifying event for the Olympic Games with the Pan Am champion earning an automatic berth in Beijing in 2008.
Following the Netherlands tour, the USA is scheduled to travel to a four nation tournament hosted by defending Pan Am Games champion Argentina in May before competing at the Champions Challenge in Baku, Azerbaijan with China, England, Korea, New Zealand and host Azerbaijan. The USA women will then compete in the U.S. National Championships where the Pan Am Games team will be named.
