USA Dving Grand Prix on AT&T Blue Room May 12-13
USA Diving Grand Prix 2007

The AT&T USA Diving Grand Prix finals will be webcast LIVE on AT&T’s Blue Room at www.attblueroom.com/teamusa on Saturday and Sunday, May 12-13, from 12 – 4 p.m.  Don’t miss this opportunity to witness Olympians, world champions and world class divers from over 20 countries as they compete for Grand Prix titles and national pride in one of the most prestigious diving events in the world!

WHAT: AT&T USA Diving Grand Prix

The road to Beijing and the 2008 Olympic Games stops in Fort Lauderdale for the 2007 AT&T USA Diving Grand Prix. The AT&T USA Grand Prix is the sole U.S. stop on the seven-country FINA (Federation Internationale de Natation) international Grand Prix tour. Now in its 37th year, the USA Grand Prix competition is one of the most prestigious diving events in the world and regularly draws top international athletes, Olympic and World champions. Previous competitions have featured Olympic champions Greg Louganis, Laura Wilkinson, Mark Lenzi, Fu Mingxia, Guo Jingjing and Dmitry Sautin along with a host of top international competitors representing over 20 countries.

WHO: The World’s Best Divers

The world’s best divers from the following countries will participate in this year’s event: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Guatemala, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Puerto Rico, Russia, South Africa, Switzerland, Ukraine, USA and Uzbekistan. The field of divers expected to compete include 17 divers who won medals at the FINA World Championships in Melbourne, Australia, in March. Those divers include USA’s David Boudia and Thomas Finchum, who won bronze in 10-meter synchro. China’s Wu Minxia, Guo Jingjing, Chen Ruolin, Wang Xin, Jia Tong, Wang Feng, Lin Yue and Huo Liang all won gold medals at the World Championships and are expected to participate in the Grand Prix. Other World Championship medalists include Australia’s Briony Cole, Sharleen Stratton and Melissa Wu, Canada’s Alexandre Despatie and Arturo Miranda, China’s Zhou Luxin, and Italy’s Tania Cagnotto. In addition, three U.S. Olympians – 2000 Olympic gold medalist Laura Wilkinson, 2000 & 2004 Olympian Troy Dumais and 2004 Olympian Cassandra Cardinell are scheduled to compete.
