United States Ranked Number One in the World in Men's BMX

Colorado Springs, Colo. (April 18, 2007)—The United States retained its overall number-one world ranking in men’s BMX racing following the first event on the 2007 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup calendar according to the latest edition of the UCI rankings published Tuesday.
The United States is currently ranked number one in the world with 258 points ahead of Colombia (182), Australia (180), Argentina (160) and New Zealand (147). Individually, Donny Robinson (Napa, Calif.) and Mike Day (Santa Clarita, Calif.) are ranked number one and two in the world respectively in the newest Olympic discipline of cycling.
In the women’s rankings, the United States improved one position to fifth place with 169 points behind Argentina (247), New Zealand (226), the Czech Republic (177) and Australia (170).
Individually, Kim Hayashi (Chandler, Ariz.) is the top-ranked American woman in 11th place.
