U.S. men open team play with 2-1 win over El Salvador

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil - The United States men's squash team opened Pan American Games pool play Tuesday morning by scoring a 2-1 win over El Salvador at the Miecimo da Silva Sport Complex.
Chris Gordon and Jamie Crombie both earned wins for the U.S. while Julian Illingworth, who won a silver medal Monday night in singles, dropped his match in straight sets.
Next up for the U.S. is a 5 p.m. match with Mexico on Tuesday. The key match could come when Illingworth meets Mexico's Eric Galvez in a rematch of Monday night's gold-medal singles match. Galvez won that match in three straight games.
