COLORADO SPRINGS PLAYS HOST TO THE 2007 USA ROLLER SPORTS OUTDOOR SPEED SKATING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Lincoln, NE – USA Roller Sports will be holding its 25th Annual Outdoor Speed Skating National Championships June 1 through June 6 in Colorado Springs, Colo. This championship will showcase some of the most dynamic athletes in the United States. Athletes will compete in the freshman, junior, world class, and masters divisions at this event. Spectator admission is free.
The first part of the competition will begin with the banked track events at the 7-11 Velodrome from Friday, June 1 through Sunday, June 3, just five blocks south of the Olympic Training Center in Memorial Park. The rain date for the track championships will be Monday, June 4. Following the track competition will be the road portion of the National Championships from June 5 through June 6 located at the corner of Circle and Airport Drives in Colorado Springs, courtesy of Craddock Realty. The rain date for the road portion will be Thursday, June 7.
The USA Roller Sports Outdoor Banked Track and Road Championships will feature some of the nation’s finest in inline speed skating. The best athletes from all corners of the United States will vie for a spot on the US Inline Speed Skating World Team, which will compete at the 2007 Federation Internationale de Roller Sports (FIRS) World Speed Skating Championships in Cali, Columbia from August 17 though August 25, 2007, as well as a spot on the Pan American team. The Pan American Games will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from July 19 through July 26, 2007. The junior and senior world teams will have 12 representatives in each class, for a total of 24 American athletes that will represent Team USA at the world championships in Columbia.
