Richards Rings NASDAQ Closing Bell
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Track & Field Olympic champion Sanya Richards, on behalf of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), presided over the NASDAQ closing bell Wednesday. Richards is training to compete in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games taking place in August 2008. The U.S. Olympic Team Trials, Track & Field, take place June 27-July 6, 2008, in Eugene, Ore.
Richards was the 2006 IAAF World Athlete of the Year and Jesse Owens Award winner. In the 400 meters, she won the 2003 NCAA title; the U.S. Championships gold medal in 2003, 2005 and 2006; and the 2005 World Championships silver medal. In the 4x400 meter relay, she won gold at the 2004 Olympic Games, and the 2003 and 2007 World Championships.
